With a background leading large-scale projects across PwC New Zealand, DLA Piper, University of Auckland, and Fisher & Paykel, he specializes in helping businesses articulate value, win competitive RFPs, and implement actionable growth strategies.
Max has worked across government, financial services, technology, and consumer markets, leading customer-centric transformations and enterprise change initiatives. His expertise spans customer segmentation, marketing automation, proposal development, and strategic road mapping—ensuring businesses translate strategy into execution effectively.
He has advised a wide range of large, enterprise level NZ businesses across financial, insurance and education sectors.
Outside of the business environment, Max is a proud father of 3 girls and a competitive athlete – having represented New Zealand at long distance triathlon, completing several Ironman's and ultra-marathons and, more recently, competing in Hyrox racing.
- Led a customer strategy for a major NZ bank struggling with segmentation and service design. By implementing customer journey mapping and segmentation models, helped refine product offerings and engagement strategy, leading to improved customer retention, cross-selling opportunities, and streamlined internal processes.
- Worked with a top NZ insurer to enhance their RFP and proposal strategy, improving their ability to secure competitive tenders. Introduced a proposal scoring framework, key value propositions, and structured responses to align with strategic priorities. Led to a higher RFP success rate and a stronger competitive position in the market.
- Led a strategy refresh project for a not-for-profit in South Auckland, identifying pain points and helping leadership articulate their B2B audience and unique ‘WIN themes’ for funding.
- Spearheaded a marketing transformation at the University of Auckland, addressing inefficiencies in campaign automation and lead management. Implemented Oracle Eloqua & Oracle Analytics, leading to higher student enrolment rates and improved campaign ROI.
